Day 6: To Puerto Princesa

We got picked up first and we were out at 4AM, picked up other guests going to Puerto Princesa as well.
Fell asleep during the ride and we woke up to have our first stop over to eat breakfast. But both of us did not have our appetite so we just stayed in the van and slept.
Woke up once again and found ourselves on the way to the city.

We have booked Blue Western Ivywall as our hotel and since the check in time was still around 3pm, we stopped at Robinson's mall to eat breakfast at Jollibee.
After breakfast, the mall opened, so we kind of stroll around the mall.

Right after, we looked for a tricycle to send us to our destination by asking the security guard. The driver gave us a good price for our day tour. First we wanted to go to the Crocodile area but it was closed when we arrived so we went to one of the ziplines in the city. It was quiet and it seemed like only few people visit the area. The zipline was cool and was fun especially walking up to the tree house looking structures. (Check out our video)

Then we went to the Crocodile park. By the way, our luggage was behind the tricycle since we went to the zipline and we just brought our important stuffs to my smaller bag just to be safe.
The oldest and longest crocodiles that used to be alive were here too. The skin of the dead longest crocodile was displayed in the wall right in the entrance lobby.

The crocodiles were fascinating. They also have a bearcat, mynas, parrots, eagles and others but they were hiding.
The other part of the tour was visiting the Butterfly garden and we enjoyed watching the tribe perform for us and we bought one of their products made of tree sap.
Photos below are the animals and insects we have seen and kind of touch.

The last stop was at Baker's Hill.

This is where we bought our food souvenirs for my coworkers, Calvin's landlord, and my family.
We tried the crocodile sisig there as well.

We waited for an hour for our only food we ordered to arrive. Calvin had Thai Milk tea so he got it earlier than I. We were so anxious and wanted to leave, the driver was waiting outside too and have not had lunch.
This is not beer. This is the Thai Milk Tea.
When we had the crocodile sisig, it was not that special. It was oily and very chewy, in just 5 minutes it was done. We also had to pay for service charge that took us to eat where they did not even inform us. There were just two groups of guests, us and another table.
When we finished, we decided to buy food for the driver. He also brought us to the places he knows where to buy cashews and we bought almost a kilo of it as it was really cheap.
Then, he sent us to our hotel, paid him, and lined up for check in.
The hotel served us iced tea while waiting and finally got our key cards. Went to our rooms, took a shower and relaxed for a bit.

Before dinner, we met up with the person who was recommended to us by the guide from Taraw Ridge for our Underground River tour.
For dinner, we went to Jollibee at Robinson's Mall and after that we went to the Cinema to watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them movie.
Went back to the hotel almost midnight and prepared for the next day.

Day 7: Underground River Tour

Had our breakfast in the hotel.
We got picked up at 7AM, but as there were many guests getting picked up, the tour guide did not notice us until the reception clerk came to us. The guide had to pick a family which is their other guests and after picking them up, off we went our way.
We had one stop over where we could eat, buy some souvenirs, toilet break, and take photos of the three Marys' island.
When we arrived at the area, we waited for our batch number to be called and got sent to the underground river via boat.

It was an audio tour so we received a recorder and new earphones. We were informed not to just open our bags or bring anything colorful because the monkeys would steal it. We experienced the underground river cave with a fiberglass made boat so we weren't allowed to move around or it will capsized and we would be swimming with bat's pee.
After the tour, we had a buffet which was free, but eating a tamilok wasn't, we had to pay for it.
But eating it was good. It was nice and fresh just like any other fresh seafood eaten raw.

Then, we were on our way back. We had a bit of stop over near the elephant mountain where the Amazing Race still have the pit stop there.
When we were back, we took a shower once again and prepared to eat dinner. We had our dinner really close to the hotel, We had our dinner at Kalui, it is one of the best rated restaurant in Puerto Princesa.

We were surprised when vans kept coming in and people were coming. We found out that most of the tables were booked for the Myanmar delegates from a conference in the city. Lucky they still had table for their walk in customers.
The food was so good it felt like heaven. The food was so relaxing that we forgot the exhaustion from the whole day of riding a van and all.
Grilled Tuna
Fried vegetables
A small cup of rice
Squid with some vegetables and curry sauce
Seafood sisig with quail eggs and mayonnaise

After dinner, we walked around to go to the Puerto Princesa bay, bought some cakes in a dessert shop to eat at the bay. I kind of forgot the name of this shop.

We ended up walking almost 30 minutes to arrive in the bay and we were not able to properly eat our cakes. We stopped eating midway because the sea stink so much. It smelled like sewer. So we went back to the hotel, grab a tricycle nearby and continued our cake in the hotel room.
I also had to buy a medicine where the pharmacy is just across from the hotel. While Calvin prepared our booking itinerary for our flight the next day.

Day 8: Goodbye Palawan

Breakfast in the hotel, packed most of our things and the souvenirs, took a dip in the pool since check out time is at 12 noon. Flight was around 2PM. The hotel has a free airport shuttle, so we just waited for the shuttle service and they sent us to the airport in 15 minutes.
Checked in, paid for terminal fee and bought more souvenirs for family in the airport. Bought some snacks as lunch.
At around 3PM we were back to Cebu.
Puerto Princesa is a big city but indeed there is not that much to do. It was fun, and staying in the hotel was for us to relax after a really hectic couple of days in El Nido.

P.s: Most photos were taken by an action cam or a cellphone camera.
